I recently had a wreck on my Harley Davidson. I can repair most of the cosmetic stuff myself but the paint on the gas tank along with the dents are beyond my ability. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how much it would cost me to get it repainted and the dents removed.

I took off the starter and primary cover, it apperars that the gear that spins the fly wheel is just barely touching it and has started to create a few burrs on the wheel it self. What do i need to do next so i can get the gear to engage fully? I dont what else to do.

i dont have another around the shop for a dual disk bike. lol already thought about that. if it was a single disk i would just take one off one of my bikes. the only down fall to that even if i had one it is a paint to bleed those stupid dot 5 systems and that fluid is high as hell lol. but good thinking and thanks for the reply
good thought about the upside down calipers. however they are correctly installed. i have since this post tried the old hose in a can bleeding method and still no success. but i will go ahead and try tieing the lever back and see what happens. i will update in the AM. thanks guys
v twin i was wondering where you got your info on the 5 yr deal with changing all the brakes components. not by any means am i saying you are not correct. i am just wonderin cause i do not find that in the manual anywhere. i know the sportsters have a 25k service interval for replacement of front and rear caliper and master cylinder seals. i would just like to know so i can sell that service but i need to be able to show the customer the interval on it...thanks a lot hope to hear back from you...
Is this motor supposed to be serviced and repaired as if it is a Harley-Davidson

Read the full Harley Davidson Books review of:i have a 2001 road king with the twin cam fuel injection engine. right now it has about 27,000 miles on it. there is a ticking sound that is coming from the engine that i am told is the cam needing repair. apparently this is a common problem. it would seem that harley would honor this under a recall but i dont think they do. a mechanis told me that it would be best to install a gear drive for the repair because it would not need any further repair down the road. any comments on doing the gear drive. also, is that a repair that would take any major technical skills. could a decent wrencher repair this with a manual. thanks for any comments or info....

I recently brought it to a shop to replace an O2 sensor because I had an engine light for that code. When I went to pick it up, the light was gone but I noticed the engine was making a sound when I accelerate the car.
If I accelerate the car while in 'Park' there is no noise so the noise only occurs when I am pressing on the accel. pad while driving. The noise sounds like a mild version of a Harley Davidson. The first thing I thought of when I heard the noise was a kid's bicycle when they attached a card to the bike so that the card hits all the spokes on the wheel while it's spinning. It's not very tinny/metallic so I don't *think* it's a hole in the exhaust.
I don't know too much about what the shop did but I know they had to take apart some things under the hood, like removing the cat. converter to get to the O2 sensor.
Any ideas what's causing this noise? And is it even remotely possible that this has nothing to do with the shop that repaired it? I literally heard it the moment I drove it off the lot and immediately turned around to have them take a look. After a day or two, they gave it back to me saying it's nothing to do with them.
